Adam & Tooter

Adam and Tooter work as a team to earn Adam's first Best Junior Handler placement at the Rio Hondo Kennel Club show on Mother's Day!

About Adam Cornell... In His Own Words!

My name is Adam Cornell.  I'm 11-years-old and live in Southern California.  I go to a small private school where I'm in 5th grade.  I'm on the Honor Roll and the basketball team.  I have been involved with showing dogs since before I was born!  My Mom tells me stories about how when she was pregnant with me she was showing dogs, the judges would get really nervous when she would run in the ring!

My first show was when I was about 3-years-old.  I was entered in Peewee Junior Handling at an ASCA show.  I showed my favorite dog "Tia," an Australian Shepherd.  She was my sweet-pea.  I showed her until I was about 8-years-old and than started showing my mom's retired dog "Tooter".  Tia died last year and I still really miss her.  She was very special to me.

Tooter and I have done well in the last 2 years.  We show in Open Juniors  in both the AKC and ASCA Junior Handler program.  We have also earned several titles in AKC and ASCA Agility. Tooter is a great dog to show and we make a really good team.  I have also put points on our dog "Scooter" in AKC and have even shown dogs for other people, too!

I like to show dogs for many reasons. It has taught me good sportsmanship and how to care for my animals.  I have met lots a new friends from other areas, and it has allowed me to travel a lot and spend lots of time with my family.

Some of you may have seen me on the TV show "Showdog Moms and Dads."  If it was not for me showing dogs, I would not have had the opportunity to be on the show.  My favorite part of the show experience was going to Philadelphia, Pa. and meeting all the other cast members!

My Mom and I bred a litter of puppies in April, so we have taken a break from showing for a couple months.  We plan to start showing again real soon.  Spring is also baseball season and I love baseball more than anything else!  I have played since I was 4-years-old!  I want to be a professional baseball player when I grow up!

Thanks for getting to know me!  Enjoy the pictures!
